What you will learn

Redis Streams is a new feature for Redis 5.0. In this course, we'll cover the basic concepts of streaming, and then provide a broad overview of Redis Streams itself. After that, we'll explore the Redis Streams commands in detail, and discover how this new data structure works under the hood.

We'll finish the course by describing how to use Redis Streams in the real world. This final chapter will include number of useful patterns, plus many important points to keep in mind when deploying Redis Streams in production.

Tutorials will be based on the CLI. Code samples will be shown in Python.

Course Instructors

Itamar Habar

A self-proclaimed "Redis Geek", Itamar is the Technology Evangelist at Redis Labs. He is also the former Chief OSS Redis Education Officer, Chief Developer Advocate, and VP Customer Support, evangelizing Redis to thousands of developers.

Kyle Banker

Kyle Banker is Director of Developer Education at Redis Labs. He's held data engineering roles at various companies, most recently on a social media analytics product that reliably processed most of the social web (around 10^8 messages) each day, in real time. Kyle's interest in databases began in 2009, when he joined MongoDB as an early employee. There, he worked as a software engineer on the Ruby and C drivers and wrote the first edition of Manning's MongoDB in Action.

When not immersed in tech, Kyle can be found spending time in the Colorado mountains or playing piano in his jazz trio. He holds dual degrees in English literature and philosophy.
